火箭為補強 放棄執行三將合約

據《休士頓紀事報》報導，火箭已經通知賈西亞（Francisco Garcia）、德菲諾（Carlos Delfino）和布魯克斯（Aaron Brooks），將不再執行他們的剩餘合約，這也是火箭為今夏補強所做的準備工作。

31歲的老將得分後衛賈西亞，下季的年薪640萬美元，薪資過高是火箭放棄他的主要原因。同樣司職得分後衛的德菲諾，下季年薪為300萬美元，他在本賽季開始前與火箭簽約兩年，火箭同樣不會執行他下季的合約。由於右腳骨折，德菲諾賽季提前報銷，缺席火箭與雷霆的第6場季後賽對決。

放棄這3名球員下季的合約後，火箭騰出1190萬美元的薪資空間。如根據本賽季的薪資上限，火箭將可以開出一份兩年540萬美元的特例合約，顯然，這份合約將保障火箭在引進頂級自由球員後，能為其尋找強硬替補，提升火箭陣容經驗與成熟度的球員。
